About Sai TechnoCare

“Science and technology are undoubtedly necessary. But they should be utilized properly”

- Sri Sathya Sai Speaks, Vol 24, #7 (20 May 1991)

Being online has become a way of life for all age groups. The Sri Sathya Sai Intenational Organization (SSSIO) has a duty to preserve and protect the sanctity of Swami’s message and His teachings , including online. Hence, the Sai TechnoCare project started in March 2021 to bring awareness and provide information to members and to help them make necessary changes. The project began with these objectives:

Objectives

Awareness

  • Make members aware of technology as a tool

  • Make them aware of communication etiquettes and virtual footprint

Information

  • Provide them with information about technology and proper use of technology

  • Equip them with the information needed to use technology wisely and safely

Transformation

  • Provide them with tools to help them transform from an outward look to an inward journey

  • Help them makes necessary changes in their lives to leave a positive virtual footprint

Our Journey

The Sai Technocare team is comprised of multi-disciplinary and multi-Sai Center members who met weekly to plan and develop the project. The team developed the following vision and mission of the Sai Technocare project:

Vision: One day, all SSSIO members of all ages will safely and confidently navigate technological spaces as messengers of Sri Sathya Sai Baba (Swami).

Mission: We are a multi-disciplinary, multi-Sai Center team helping to bring online awareness, information, and transformation to all Sai brothers and sisters through Swami’s teachings and values.

The team conducted a workshop during the online Labor Day Retreat in Region 10 2021, which had very good attendance with members participating from all over the county. Since the retreat, the team has been working on coordinating with the SSSIO-USA National Team and the Sai-Trek Team to develop this Sai Technocare website.  The Sai-Trek team is a multi-regional team. They have offered a series of four workshops throughout 2021 for each Sai-Spiritual Education (SSE) Group, Groups 1 to 4, and a separate series of four workshops for adults.

“It is not technology but it is ‘tricknology'. Do not become a slave to such technology. Uphold truth and righteousness. Cultivate love and experience divinity.”

Spot the Phish

As described here, "phishing" refers to attacks delivered via email to get victims to share their personal information. Criminals play on a variety of human emotions to try and get you to act; usually by clicking a link.  Here are some examples to help you spot phishing attacks.

Financial Scams

Phishing refers to "fishing" for personal information such as passwords and credit card numbers from unsuspecting individuals using emails. Criminals pretend to represent reputable companies and try to play on human emotions to get the recipient to click on links in the email. Clicking the link usually results in some malicious software (malware) installed on the victim's computer.
